ARVAGAS
Biomethane development · Ukraine → EU

From Ukrainian biogas to certified European biomethane

We develop biomethane projects with Ukrainian agricultural producers: upgrading and compression engineering, connection to the gas grid, ISCC EU certification and project structuring for lenders and investors.

Built on gas transmission expertise, not only on farming.

Why now

Europe needs biomethane. Ukraine has the feedstock and the pipes.

EU demand gap. The REPowerEU target is 35 bcm of biomethane by 2030; current investment points to about 7.3 bcm (European Biogas Association).
Feedstock. One of Europe's largest livestock and agri-processing sectors, with manure and residues largely unused.
Infrastructure. An extensive gas transmission and distribution network with direct pipeline links to the EU.
Policy. National Biomethane Registry with guarantees of origin (2026) and a state programme targeting 1 bcm by 2030 and 2.1 bcm by 2035.

For buyers

Supply you can audit

Certification

Plants prepared for ISCC EU or REDcert-EU audits and Proof of Sustainability issuance.

Low carbon intensity

Focus on manure-based feedstock, which avoids methane emissions from open storage.

Traceability

Mass balance, feedstock chain records and guarantees of origin through the national Biomethane Registry.

Grid quality

Metering and gas quality control designed to Ukrainian TSO and DSO requirements.

War-risk management

Designed for operation in wartime

  • Protection of critical equipment. Layout and protection of upgrading, compression and metering units so that damage to one element does not stop the whole plant.
  • Outage scenarios. Safe shutdown and restart procedures, backup power, response to grid operator restrictions.
  • Modularity and spares. Replaceable or relocatable equipment and critical spare parts planned around logistics.
  • Insurance and financing. Projects prepared for political and war-risk insurance requirements and for lender due diligence.

Four steps from assessment to first gas

  1. 1AssessmentFeedstock, biogas volume, distance to the grid, project economics
  2. 2Design and grid permitsTechnical solution, connection conditions from the DSO or TSO
  3. 3Financing and constructionFinancing package, contractor tender, owner's engineering
  4. 4Start-up and exportFirst gas into the grid, certification, contracts with EU buyers
